Central Sierra Nevada Mountain Range (California/Nevada, USA) ideas for rides

Good stuff. I missed out on a lot of adventure riding when I lived in the Nor Cal. Now I live in the Central Valley and am trying to find places to ride. Unfortunately, so many places I want to go are privately owned. I grew up riding in the Eastern Sierra (Southern) and there was much more access. Guess the world is changing.

You are correct, the southern part of the state is much more open to off pavement experiences.

The Lake Tahoe basin is extremely restrictive to off pavement for water quality issues.

It's hard to define the central valley. I live in south San Joaquin county. 400 miles to Oregon and to Mexico. So when I see Central Valley rid3s I'm expecting them to be in my backyard not 200 miles south. Lol1751564283119.gif

I spent a week riding in the hills east of Fresno, before moving to Idaho, back when I still considered Clovis as an option. I should look up the dirt roads that I went on.

I have also done a bit of riding in El Dorado, Placer, Sierra, and Nevada Counties. I especially like riding near Foresthill and Downieville. I'll have to look into making a list of my favorite roads in the area.
